The incumbent District Attorney, John Bradley was defeated in the Republican primary on May 29. That means that Williamson County will definitely have a new district attorney starting on January 1, 2013. The voters have a choice between Jana Duty and Ken Crain. The general election will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, with early voting starting on October 22.
Here is a brief summary of Ken's qualifications for District Attorney:
If you want the new district attorney to be someone who will work hard to improve the prosecution of felonies in the county, you should support Ken Crain. Ken has the qualifications and the background to become a great district attorney. He has been an attorney in Williamson County for over 27 years. He has prior experience as a prosecutor and has been in a private law practice in Georgetown since 1986 handling criminal cases, family law cases, and probate cases.
The DA's office should be a non-partisan position. When you call 911, you do not ask them to send you a Republican cop or a Democratic cop. Why should a prosecutor be any different? Justice should be blind to party affiliation. Ken will perform his duties as district attorney in an efficient, non-partisan fashion without regard to the political views of the people involved in the case. His primary focus will be to see that justice is done for the crime victims and for the community as a whole.
In order to become the next Williamson County District Attorney, I need your support and the support of everyone who is interested in making sure that the Williamson County District Attorney's office operates with fairness, professionalism, honesty, and integrity. I will be smart on crime and keep Williamson County citizens safe without being light on justice. I will embrace new science and new technology as it becomes available in order to advance the cause of justice.
I will keep Williamson County safe by ensuring that the DA's office makes public safety a priority over wasteful, petty partisan battles with other elected officials.
Running for a county-wide office is an expensive undertaking, so I need your financial contribution NOW to help carry my message to the thousands and thousands of Williamson County voters. Your donation will help pay for mailings, signs, newspaper ads and other items needed for a successful county-wide campaign.
